In my project I want to create and capture the feeling of heat and the atmosphere of closeness through heat transformation.
I want to make people excited about a simple piece of cloth, it’s touch and the energy around it. I aspire to bring back the attention to the fabric. Acknowledging the fabric’s ability to serve as a source of comfort and create environment, mood and atmosphere.

I ask to show fabrics through my own eyes: looking at a fabric not as a part of a product, but a wholesome object. What kind of feelings does it arouse? What kind of relationship is created between the fabric and people observing it?.

I created smart textile that express the interaction between a person and his environment: woven fabrics, that changes their colours according to the temperature, presence and a human touch. 

The very presence of a person interacting with the fabrics will change and influence the toning, colour and pattern.

This project is weaving materials research that combines different kind of fibres: yarns coloured in thermo chromatic colours - that changes their colour in heat and cold in addition to heating and conducting yarns. This thermo chromatic yarns are intertwined in the fabric and they are the ones responsible for the colouring changes. Sensors that are connected to the material will recognise human presence, send signals to the specific spot to get warmer. This eventually will effect the coloured yarns and a new pattern will emerge.
